Black Sesame Thai Tea Cream Puffs
Sometimes I just want to challenge myself. I come up with an interesting flavor combo and I am compelled to make it. This was one of those times, and boy am I glad that I tried. The idea for this recipe starts back in NYC, right before our big move to Austin, TX. One of friends heard that we hadn't tried a cafe called Bibble and Sip on the west side of Manhattan and decided that we just had to try it before we moved away for good. On one of our last days of packing they drove over a huge box of goodies including their cream puffs. These cream puffs were large, had a crunchy cookie topping and smooth creamy filling. Also their flavors were of the Asian fusion persuasion. From Matcha White chocolate to Earl Grey vanilla, they were all decadent and delicious. So after thinking about cream puffs for a couple of weeks I decided to live on the wild side and create this Black Sesame Thai Tea Cream Puff. This creation has a sweet and crunchy black sesame crush on the top and filled with a sinfully smooth, but not too sweet mousseline Thai tea cream.
